Strenghthening of Cooperatives
As part of its commitment to women’s empowerment and livelihood development, the organization has successfully promoted and established 12 Self Help Group (SHG) Cooperatives across its operational areas. These cooperatives are collectively owned and managed by 576 Self Help Groups, who are registered as active shareholders.
Through regular savings and internal contributions, these SHGs have collectively mobilized a substantial fund of INR 26,00,000. This fund is owned by the women themselves and is strategically used to provide micro-credit to members for initiating and expanding Income Generating Activities (IGAs). This initiative not only improves access to finance but also reduces dependency on informal moneylenders and creates a strong foundation for economic self-reliance.
To ensure transparency and accountability, the organization (Samekit Jan Vikas Kendra - SJVK) provides ongoing support in maintaining a Financial Management System (FMS) and a Management Information System (MIS). These systems help in tracking loans, repayments, member contributions, profits, and other key financial data in a clear and organized manner. At the field level, the women themselves are trained and empowered to maintain records, enhancing ownership, confidence, and capacity.
